Mr. Ali is a career banker with 17 years of senior Leadership and Management experience across local and international banks, as well as, Conventional and Islamic Finance.
From 2007 to February 2010, he worked for Standard Chartered Bank Kenya Ltd as Personal Financial Consultant and Branch Manager.
From March 2010 to March 2013, Stanbic Bank Kenya Ltd as Senior Branch Manager where he later joined Gulf African Bank as The Head of Retail.
In 2014 he joined Chase Bank Kenya Ltd as Head of Retail Banking and was later promoted to Head the Islamic Banking Unit with full mandate to lead the Retail, SME and Corporate Business.
With the takeover of Chase Bank by SBM Bank in 2018, Ali was promoted to the position of Vice President and Head of Islamic Banking.
He is currently The General Manager Business at IBS Bank.
Mr. Ali is a graduate from The University of Nairobi with Bachelor of Commerce (BCOM) degree and Master of Business Administration (MBA). He also has extensive leadership and management training from Kenya and South Africa
